Essaouira 2-Day Tour

Essaouira

Trip description

Essaouira, a beautiful port city and seaside resort, is highly appreciated by visitors for its peaceful atmosphere and mild climate. The city is home to numerous cultural and historical sites that bear witness to the many civilizations that have shaped its history, including the Phoenicians, Romans, and Portuguese.

You will certainly enjoy wandering through the narrow streets of Essaouira’s old medina and admiring the rich architecture and decorative details of its traditional houses.

Upon arrival, you will be invited to join a half-day guided tour, strolling along Derb Laalouj to the Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah Museum, an elegant 19th-century mansion. In this charming part of the medina, you will discover numerous Moroccan handicraft shops offering locally made products with international appeal, especially items crafted from thuya wood, as well as leather goods, carpets, and silver jewelry.

A lunch break at a local restaurant will give you the opportunity to taste the delights of local cuisine, particularly the region's famous fresh seafood specialties. The visit then continues to the Skala of the Kasbah, impressive ocean-facing fortifications dating back to the 16th century, originally built to protect the city.

To make your stay even more enjoyable, we have selected one of the finest accommodations in the area: Essaouira Lodge, a three-hectare hotel estate nestled in the heart of a thuya forest. The property offers apartments, suites, houses, and luxury villas decorated in an elegant blend of traditional Moroccan and modern styles, all equipped with every comfort to ensure a relaxing stay.

The lodge also provides access to its large heated swimming pool, traditional oriental hammam, and its restaurant, The Pool House, which serves refined Mediterranean cuisine that you will have the opportunity to enjoy during your dinner at the hotel.

Essaouira is also considered one of the world's best surfing destinations, and its beautiful beaches are internationally renowned for the quality of their waves. It would be a shame not to take advantage of this unique experience during your stay.
